For Beauty, Health and Pets the commission is a percentage of what is left after the product cost and payment processing, which is what lets Apex offer the same rate on a thin-margin item as on a fat one instead of excluding it from the program. Digital products — courses, books, templates, Apex Pass — have no per-unit cost, so there the percentage is taken straight off the sale price.

The commission on that sale is reversed. If it had not been paid out yet, it simply comes off your pending balance. If it had already been paid to you, it is recovered from your next payout instead — Apex never tries to charge you back for money already sent.
